David Schloss at maccreate.com added my website to their portfolio gallery. There's also a http://blog.maccreate.com/2009/12/14/shooting-workflow-in-bend/ on the maccreate blog mentioning our epic drive from the Portland airport to Bend, Ore. Thanks David!
UPDATE: Cyclocross Nationals, Bend, Oregon
Here's my final take from the Cyclocross Championship, Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, in Bend, Ore.Caption: A record 1,600-plus racers compete in the city's Old Mill District for the U.S. cyclocross national championships. Competitors in cyclocross, a sport in which riders race -- and sometimes carry -- their bikes around a course filled with varied terrain and obstacles, are accustomed to harsh conditions, and the winter freeze in Bend doesn't dissappoint. Here's the latest post from Oregonlive.com
Beautiful night at Smith Rocks near Bend, Ore.
My friend and founder of maccreate.com shot this photo of me as the sun dipped below the Cascade mountains to the west.We lit this with one Nikon strobe on a light stand with a medium Chimera box triggered with pocket wizards. It was shot on a Canon 5D Mark II.
Oden Down, Roy Up
The Trail Blazers suffered a potentially devastating setback Saturday night against the Houston Rockets as one of the faces of the franchise suffered another serious injury. Greg Oden, one of the few bright spots in what has been a discouraging start to the season, fractured the patella in his left knee and will likely miss the rest of the season.

A sonic wave of Rossini swirls down the halls of George Middle School in North Portland. It's parent-teacher night, and while adults chat quietly in classrooms about, perhaps, Johnny's tendency to hide little green Army men around school or Emma's love of vampires, it sounds as if Metallica and Motörhead are duking it out in the school's auditorium.

Congress Hotel in Tucson, Arizona
I went for an epic walk through Tucson and ended up at the Congress Hotel. Esquire magazine named it one of the top ten best bars in the country. I would have to agree. There were bands playing outside, dancing inside, several bars, a restaurant and a super cool lobby. Yes, you are seeing a man hug his dog.

The costume scene in Eugene |
Ross Hamilton and I headed out to the Autzen Stadium parking lot and see some costumes. Ross captured audio and I shot still images. I went over 500 images back to the office and Joel Odem did the edit. Ross and I think he did a great job. We had a good laugh.
We did this before the game and by the time we saw it about 11:00 p.m., it seemed like we did it three days ago. A lot of water passed under the bridge by the time we shot the pre-game, the game, post-game and edited and sent the images.
Storm Large and her Holiday Ordeal
I had a great time shooting Storm Large today the Aladdin Theater. I always love to photograph someone who brings a high level of energy and creativity to the table. Not only is Storm attractive, she knows how communicate with her face and body. I could say something like "look triumphant" and she would instantly know what kind of posture and look she should have. She would move from one idea to the next as fast I could push the shutter. That's refreshing.

Coho Salmon Return in Record Numbers |
Here's the story from The Oregonian: Coho Salmon Return in Record Numbers
Huge Return of Coho Salmon
A huge return of hatchery coho in Cedar Creek appeared after the rains recently. The fish are running so heavy they are literally jamming the little creek forcing hatchery managers to quickly assemble workers to harvest the surplus fish that will processed and donated to the Oregon Food Bank. I shot this at the Century Plaza in Los Angeles, Calif., on Oct 10, 2009, when I visited the Annenberg Space for Photography. I was really blown away by the scale of this facility. I shot it on a 5D Mark II with a 50/1.4 at f8. I achieved the low-key look with Aperture using the highlight shadow tools, de-saturation, and color monochrome module.
Mike Witenberger at the OK Barber Shop
I photographed Mike because he's owned the OK Barber Shop in Salem, Ore., since 1963.
